初めて読んだ時の感動と興奮という呪縛から未だ解けない
Please let me hear the story of when you volunteered to be a publishing house.
Koizumi: since I joined the talk club in 2014, the third Publishing Department of Literature and Art has worked as a freelancer from 2003 to 2009.
-- commonly known as Wen San. Although there are organizational modifications and name changes according to the times, roughly speaking, since the late 1980s, new formal mystery novels such as the "Pavilion" series by Ayanaka pedestrians have been released one after another, and the department of the entertainment novel "Mayfair" has been published with the film as the background.
Koizumi: when I was a freelancer, I studied in Wen 3 for about 6 years. He was the first work of Shimura Shenyue, "the time of the Cold School stops" (2004). Later, I moved to Popra and edited ordinary literature and art books for about five years. He once served as the "Midnight Bakery" of Noriko Onuma, who was turned into a TV series. After that, I joined the talk club halfway, and this year is already the eighth year. In fact, on the whole, Wen San has a long experience.
What will become of freelance editors?
Koizumi: when I was in college, I wanted to work in a publishing house and Grazia, a women's magazine (closed in 2013). After graduating from college, he usually works for a clothing mail-order magazine company, and the editor of "Grazia" is looking for someone who can help in the transferred article 3. He has a story that can be done without experience, so he attended the interview. I quit my job and started working as a freelancer right away. It's fate there.
Speaking of Wen San, first of all, there are mystery novels. Have you read them already?
Koizumi: actually, I didn't read that much. However, the initial responsibility for Mr. Kumura is very big for me, and the spell of emotion and excitement from the first reading has not yet been broken (laughter). It is shocking to have such a writer in the sense of the fusion of mystery novel and storytelling. And Mr. Uyama Sunrise, who resigned because of retirement, also met in the company and had a fierce exchange.
Uyama Ri, who died in 2006, made his debut one after another by the writers of new formal mystery novels, such as Ayakami pedestrians, Fayue syringe Taro, my grandson Wuwan, Kono Jingwu, and so on. They are legendary editors who have improved to talk about the three names of social culture.
Koizumi: I remember that one day, a paper bag full of books from the record company "talk about the Secret Paradise" founded by Mr. Uyama in 2003 was placed on the table with the feeling of "read it."
As a regular employee, what have you done since you returned to Wen 3 in 2014?
Koizumi: participated in the new brand talk about the establishment of Shetaiga (the library brand that was founded in 2015). It was also the period of the electronic release of Mayfair on paper, but I didn't expect it to turn into the current system.
一緒の居場所が作れたらというのが一番の目標
When did this update project start within the company?
Koizumi: it began in 2020 when Yuosuke became the third minister of publishing in literature and art. After exploring whether there can be any different forms with traditional ones, I launched the idea of a member reading club, which is a warm workout as a project.
You started at the discussion stage.
Koizumi: I feel uneasy about whether I can be the editor of Mayfair, but I am acting as a member of the center. Only the editorial department materializes the membership reading club, which is impossible in the company's internal system, so it operates jointly with companies that operate fan clubs.
Do you have anything to become a model in the idea? I immediately think of music and video subscriptions.
Koizumi: the minister's goal is to get close to the music lovers' club. I hope "Mayfest" can be sent to the artist's magazine, sell surrounding goods and hold activities. It is completely different from sublibrary systems such as Netflix and Amazon Prime. If it is to provide services to readers, the recipient to enjoy the service of sending letters and feelings, there will be inconsistencies. To this end, the home page reads: "the membership Reading Club made with you who like reading is born!" It says ". The biggest goal is to produce with readers, not only mystery novels, but also mystery-loving people who gather together to share new information, communicate, and create a place to live together.
-- led by Ayanagi pedestrians and Yukawa Yukikawa, many of the writers at a deeper level, such as Wen San and Mayfair, have come from university reasoning studies. In mystery novels and science fiction, there has long been an exciting culture of making journals, calling writers to hold events, and fans communicating with each other.
Koizumi: both the minister and I have a vision for this kind of thing. First of all, we have to build a nuclear part. Everyone thinks that we hope to derive it freely from here, and now we are groping to make it.
In the past, there were novels, conversations, book reviews and other forms in a magazine. After updating, only novels were published in paper magazines, book reviews were published on line, and online conversation activities were held in a decentralized manner.
Koizumi: now everyone can use their smartphones to get all the information. I want to see all kinds of things in the palm of my hand and send them to my hand. Thinking in this way, I decided to use LINE to send book reviews and tour guides of mystery novels, but after accumulating rare information, I found that it was better to look back and adjust the environment. I was thinking and groping about the preparation of the system one by one. It's all new and there are a lot of difficulties, but I really think it's an interesting attempt. The editor of the magazine's "Mayfest" collection, the selection of the Mayfair Award, the production of goods, the delivery of LINE, and so on, the Mayfidas Club will continue to challenge.
Print magazines are quarterly, LINE content is constantly sent, and conversations are held while different cycles of work are carried out in parallel.
Koizumi: recently asked Aozaki Yuigo and Ruo Linta to tell the recommended reasoning story, a fleeting hour (released on January 22). Mayfair itself only publishes the novel, and the "miscellaneous" part of the magazine wants to pay attention to immediacy, hoping to provide more real-time information in online publishing and online activities. It takes about a month to publish new information such as book reviews in a magazine. This is not the case, such as Miazawa Suixin, who just swept the mysterious list in "Dark Prison City", hoping to express his feelings at that time. Miazawa starred in a talk concert on December 23 last year (won the Naoki Award in the film in January). My goal is to become the shape of a "miscellaneous" magazine that can only be done now. On the other hand, there are many people who want to read novels on paper, and we also want to leave the culture behind. It was so paper-bound that the novel decided to send it to a paper magazine.
With regard to novels, have you ever thought about continuing with the electronic version?
Koizumi: I want to avoid becoming a member but I don't understand the events of the last issue, so the period is limited, but we have prepared a browser return number for paying members that can be read on the Internet. At the same time, the sale of the return number of the paper is also limited by the members. However, I have not considered selling it on e-books at all.
How did the readers react when they tried to actually start the membership reading club?
Koizumi: although we can use LINE to conduct a questionnaire survey, the response is very good. So far, the editorial department and readers have had too many opportunities only at the signing meeting. Now, it feels like there's a big connection. There are also many readers who want to participate in such activities, so I would like to try my best to answer them.
